1-day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Safari, Ngamba island is a small island on Lake Victoria, a serene and peaceful environment covered in exquisite and luxurious scenery. Ngamba is home to quite a several orphaned Chimpanzees. The sanctuary offers a memorable Uganda experience with man’s closest relative as you observe their daily routine and even more impressive, view them up close as they interact in their natural environment. You can participate in their 11:00 am and 3:00 pm; the Chimpanzees come out to receive their food that is mainly composed of fruits and vegetables that the caretakers prepare for them. You watch from a raised viewing platform as they are being fed.

Visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
After your breakfast, you will have a short briefing by the safari guide; you will leave for Ngamba Island on a boat on the waters of Lake Victoria. The boat takes about 45 minutes to reach the island and crosses the Equator en-route. When you arrive at Ngamba sanctuary, you will get a small briefing and get right into it.
Get to see the morning feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitor’s platform area and watch the chimpanzees interact with each other and with their keepers, you will immediately catch on to the different personalities of the different Chimpanzees. After lunch, you will visit the neighbouring fishing village as you look out for various bird species of this island.
Visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre ( Entebbe Zoo )
Mark your Ngamba adventure with a complimentary entry to Entebbe Wildlife Education centre to view different animals that have been rescued and protected by this conservation area. You can decide to have a small snack before setting out to Botanical Gardens, an awesome place for birding with birds like the Malachite kingfisher, Egyptian Goose, Black-headed Weaver, Pink-backed Pelican, Purple banded sunbird, yellow-billed stork and so much more, the list is endless.
There are quite an impressive number of trees of tree species, where you will learn about each one and what kind of medicine is derived from some of these trees.
